A Roller Lid requires only minimal but regular maintenance to ensure smooth, reliable operation over the long term.
The most important maintenance tasks include keeping the side rails free from dirt, mud, leaves, and other debris, as blocked rails are the most common cause of difficult operation. The rails and hinge points should be lubricated once a year using a silicone spray lubricant—never oil or grease, as these attract dirt and dust.
The side weather seals should also be inspected periodically and replaced if they become hardened, cracked, or damaged.
Cleaning the side rails whenever the vehicle is washed is one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent operating issues.
The roller canister itself is generally sealed and does not require internal maintenance.
Tip: Always use a silicone-based spray lubricant on the side rails. Oil- or grease-based products can attract dust and mud, which may eventually impair the smooth operation of the mechanism.
