Why should you turn to a specialist company when you want to equip your vehicle?

At some point, you have probably considered equipping your pick-up with accessories, and the “workshop around the corner” may have seemed like the best option.

Of course, you can also turn to “Uncle Gigel” at the local workshop. However, when it comes to accessories such as a hardtop, which can affect the vehicle's configuration, things become more complicated. This is when you should have the installation carried out by a specialized company, otherwise you may face various problems.

First of all, you need to consider that certain legal regulations apply and, like many regulations in Romania, these can change over time. A specialized company that installs hardtops keeps up to date with these changes and ensures that the products it sells comply with all applicable requirements and safety regulations.

However, having qualified and properly trained staff is not enough. You might say that “Uncle Gigel” has that too. Correct! But what “Uncle Gigel” very likely does not have is an RAR-authorized workshop for installing these products. PLEASE NOTE: An RAR-approved workshop does not automatically mean that it is legally authorized to install HARDTOPS under all applicable requirements. In addition, the products sold must be accompanied by all required RAR and international TUV and CE approval certifications, in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Here is another extremely important tip: when purchasing a hardtop or bed cover, check the following:

• The product's serial number must be marked on the product itself.
• The serial number must also appear in the documentation issued by RAR. It is possible to receive documentation for an approved product while the actual product is not one of the products listed in the authorization.
• The windows must carry the E-mark.
• The additional LED brake light (if fitted to the product) must also carry the E-mark.

These are not complicated things, but for those who are not familiar with the subject, they can mean a lot of unnecessary trouble.

Furthermore, the internet is not always the best source of information, especially since rumors can easily spread about various products, such as claims that they are illegal.
