Toyota Hilux 2022 Debuts in India
The Hilux will be the Japanese automaker's third model based on the IMV platform, alongside the Fortuner and Innova, and is expected to share some components with these vehicles.
Although it is already a popular model in global markets, Toyota is bringing the Hilux to India for the first time, where it will compete with the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. The Hilux is based on the same platform as the Toyota Fortuner and will be powered by the same 2.8-liter diesel engine, offered with both a manual and an automatic transmission with 4x4.
We have already seen several photos of this pick-up model and know that it will come with five seats. In terms of styling, the Hilux will feature a large hexagonal grille, LED headlights with LED DRLs, a robust bumper, 18-inch alloy wheels, side steps, keyless entry, and LED rear lights. It will be offered in five color options, including the new Emotional Red shade.
As for the cabin, it will be finished entirely in black and will feature leather upholstery, an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, cruise control, eight-way electrically adjustable front seats and much more. Sounds good, doesn't it?
Yoshiki Konishi, Chief Engineer at Toyota, says that the Hilux is a lifestyle vehicle that offers the best of both worlds and is suitable for both urban adventures and off-road driving.
