Is the Alpha WOLF Pickup Really Real?

According to an official press release from Irvine, California, Alpha Motor Corporation will present a prototype of its electric WOLF pickup at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Visitors have been able to see the fully electric vehicle up close since August 24, 2021.

Alpha Motor Corporation writes:

“WOLF is a simple work truck with soul. It is built to handle everyday tasks while having the presence of a vehicle that is fun to drive. We are excited about its public debut.”

Alpha Motor first introduced its fully electric pickup in March 2021. As expected, the WOLF attracted significant attention and interest, just like many upcoming electric pickup trucks. According to the company, production was expected to begin in the United States at the end of 2023.

Well, this is what the Alpha WOLF electric pickup looks like.

And if you have never heard of this company, especially of this vehicle, we can understand why. It is a California-based start-up that began making waves the previous year when it released renderings of the ACE – a distinctive retro coupe that could even make the AMG Black Series blush. Then came the JAX, the rugged version of the ACE, but the company really caught our attention when it unveiled the WOLF.

The problem was that although we wanted to believe it was real, all the manufacturer initially made available were renderings. Naturally, we thought it might simply be the work of a talented digital designer with an elegant website … and not much else.

But for the first time, the renderings came to life in California!

Let's start with a few key numbers. There will be WOLF and WOLF+ versions, as well as an Extra Cab version of the WOLF. The latter will feature smaller rear doors and a 2+2 seating configuration, while the WOLF+ is expected to offer a towing capacity of more than 3 tonnes.

The pickup is 4.7 metres long, making it shorter and wider than a Toyota Hilux.

The manufacturers intend to make electric vehicles more affordable by offering discounts on list prices. Technical details are extremely limited at this stage. It is not known where the batteries or electric motors will come from. The only information available is that the company initially plans to outsource production in the United States and later build its own manufacturing facility.

There is clearly a long road ahead, but we support Alpha's ambitious plans!
